Project 1619 Discussion

Village Members Lark Ruffner and Dick Myers will lead the 1619 Project discussion group that was stimulated by the project initiated by the New York Times to investigate and illuminate the impact of slavery on the United States' society and culture.  The purpose of the group is to explore and examine our own reflections about the facts and ideas presented by contributors to the 1619 project, or about other public commentary on the topic. From time to time, we may select specific articles that are part of the 1619 published material, from the New York Times or other sources, to focus on for our discussions, but the meetings will always be open to comments about any part of the project or any thoughts that any of our members may like to express about the issue.
