Pasadena Village VIP's
Visually Impaired People Unite!!
The purpose of this new Affinity Group is to explore the issues that people with low vision
deal with in adjusting to impaired vision.
Village Members Karen Bagnard and Dick Myers will share
their experience with failing vision, and how they coped, finding humor, hope
and what they learned along the way to offer support and education to the participants.
Having missed the first meeting, Nilima Tanna, Director of Low Vision Services from the Braille Institute, will be present at this second meeting. Ms. Tanna is a Low Vision Occupational Therapist and a Certified Low Vision Therapist and has been working in this field for almost 20 years!
She will cover two main issues:
1. The functional implications of different eye conditions
2. Impact of lighting, contrast and glare on your daily life with vision loss.
Other topics to be discussed ongoing:
What kind of vision issues are you experiencing?
What problems do these issues create for you in performing your daily activities?
What kind of resources are available can assist you in conducting your daily activities?
What else might be done to help you deal with your situation?
